Mission

CMU’s Street Medicine mission is to ensure access to interdisciplinary quality health services for the underserved, homeless, and rough sleeping community. CMU Street Medicine seeks to bridge gaps between these populations, and medical and social services. We aim to overcome barriers to health by providing regular and direct outreach and engagement with homeless/rough sleeping people where they live, building relationships and trust, and offering empathy, companionship and respect.
CMU Street Medicine knows that our strength lies not only in the words we stand by, but most importantly through the actions of our initiatives. Our Volunteer Organization realized that by working together we could overcome our challenges much more efficiently, and that is why we ultimately decided to launch CMU Street Medicine.
